1 New Case Of Coronavirus Confirmed In Whitman County-Decrease In Cases Caused By Interruption Of Student Testing At WSU-No Deaths-No Hospitalizations

One new case of coronavirus was confirmed in Whitman County on Wednesday.

Whitman County Public Health reports the woman is between 20 and 39 years old and is stable and self-isolating.

Wildfire smoke forced Washington State University and the National Guard to temporarily stop their testing of students.  The guard resumed student testing on Tuesday afternoon.  Public health officials say the pause in testing at WSU is the likely reason for the decrease in cases.

There have been a total of 1066 coronavirus cases confirmed in Whitman County since the pandemic began.  No one has died from coronavirus in Whitman County.  There are currently no hospitalizations involving a coronavirus patient in Whitman County.
