Eleven new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Whitman County on Tuesday.
Whitman County Public Health reports that all the patients are stable and self-isolating. All of them are in the age brackets under 39.
Officials say the recent decrease in new cases is likely caused by Washington State University’s campus shut down due to wildfire smoke. WSU and the National Guard temporarily stopped testing students on Friday because of wildfire smoke.
There has been a total of 1065 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Whitman County since the pandemic began. No one has died from coronavirus in Whitman County. There are currently no hospitalizations involving a coronavirus patient in Whitman County.
