18 Year Old Pleads Guilty To Leading Local WSP Troopers On Dangerous High Speed Chase

An 18 year old has pleaded guilty to leading local Washington State Patrol Troopers on a dangerous high speed car chase.

Mikey Taylor pleaded guilty as charged Friday to felony attempted eluding in Whitman County Superior Court.  Judge Gary Libey agreed with Prosecutor Denis Tracy’s recommendation and sentenced Taylor to the time he already spent in jail which was 17 days.  Tracy recommended the credit for time served sentence since Taylor has no prior criminal convictions.

Taylor failed to pullover for a trooper on U.S. Highway 195 North of Colfax in April.  He was doing 85 MPH when the trooper tried to make the stop.  Taylor was going 122 MPH when the trooper discontinued the pursuit because it was too dangerous.  Another trooper then spotted Taylor in the Albion area but he once again refused to stop and the officer lost him on a gravel road.

The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office found Taylor’s truck abandoned North of Pullman.  Deputies then found Taylor walking on some nearby railroad tracks and took him into custody.  The truck was reported stolen out of Lewiston.
