The 28 year old Pullman man who was shot inside a College Hill apartment has died which has turned the case into a murder investigation.
Pullman Police are releasing few details about the killing but note that officers are actively investigating. Pullman PD Commander Aaron Breshears notes that many department staff who were on vacation for Christmas are back at work investigating the murder.
The man was shot early Thursday morning inside an apartment on California Street. An occupant in the residence called 911 around 3:00 reporting that the man was unresponsive. He was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital where he passed away shortly before midnight Thursday night.
No arrests have been made. Pullman Police wants everyone who has surveillance cameras in the Greek Row area to check the footage. Officers are interested in videos and images from 10:00 Christmas night to about 4:00 Thursday morning.
Commander Breshears continues to stress that there is no evidence at this time indicating that this murder represents a threat to the general public. Commander Breshears also notes that the victim was not a Washington State University student. The residence where the murder occurred is along Greek Row but is not associated with any student housing. WSU is currently on Winter Break.
The Washington State Patrol Crime Lab was called in to investigate the scene. Those specialists completed their forensic work Thursday.
This murder marks what might be the most violent year in Pullman’s history. There have now been two homicides and an attempted murder in Pullman in 2024. In March 36 year old Jacob Spray allegedly killed his 25 year old estranged wife Jamie on Military Hill. In July 38 year old Cesar Marmolejos of Pullman allegedly tried to stabbed a 22 year old Moscow man to death at the Sunset Mart on Bishop Boulevard.
