“A Look at Ukraine” with scholar Lance Rhoades at Neill Public Library

Neill Public Library invites the community to its Ukraine program with Lance Rhoades this Wednesday at 6:30 pm at the library in Pullman.

In light of the ongoing Russian military aggression and consequent human rights crisis in Ukraine, scholar Lance Rhoades presents A Look at Ukraine.

Rhoades will share his experiences and observations visiting western Ukraine shortly after Russia annexed Crimea and declared eastern provinces independent.

Rhoades is a Seattle-based scholar who completed his graduate studies in Comparative Literature and Cinema Studies at the University of Washington, where he has taught in the Department of Comparative Literature, and in the Cinema Studies, Comparative History of Ideas, and American Indian Studies programs, and was a recipient of the UW’s Excellence in Teaching award. Rhoades has presented talks throughout North America, Asia and Europe on cultural history in film.

The event is free to the public and requires no registration.
