At least one local primary race shapes up during early candidate filing in Idaho

There will be at least one local primary election this Spring in Idaho.  Candidate filing for seats up for a vote this year began on Monday.  Peggy Gottschalk and Jan Ahles will face off in the Republican primary for Latah County Treasurer.  Democrat B.J. Swanson has also filed for the seat currently held by Lois Reed.  Democrat Kathie LaFortune and Republican Tony Johnson have filed for the Latah County Commissioner seat held by Republican Dick Walser.  Walser is not running for re-election.  Republican County Commissioner Dave McGraw is running for re-election.  Democrat Rod Wakefield is running for County Assessor to replace fellow Democrat Pat Vaughan who is retiring.  County Coroner Democrat Catherine Mabbutt is running for re-election.  Local Idaho State Senator Republican Dan Foreman has filed for re-election as well.  Candidate filing in Idaho runs through March 9th.  The Idaho primary is in May.
