The traditional Washington candidate filing period began with a flurry of local activity Monday morning. Dozens of candidates filed for hundreds of small taxing district positions up for a vote this year in Whitman County.
A potential contested Pullman School Board race is shaping up as a candidate has filed for the seat held by Nathan Roberts. Washington State University Graduate Student Teaching Assistant in Apparel Merchandise Design and Textile Carolina Silva has filed for the post. Pullman School Board member Amanda Tanner has filed for re-election.
As expected Pullman City Councilman Al Sorensen has filed for re-election. Eric Fejeran who announced he was running for Sorensen’s seat also filed this morning. Megan Guido has filed for the Pullman City Council post being vacated by Brandon Chapman.
Port of Whitman County Commissioners Tom Kammerzell and Karl Webber filed for re-election this morning as well.
Candidate filing for seats up for election this year in Washington runs through Friday at the Whitman County Auditor’s Office.
