Another routine traffic stop in Colfax has led to a drug bust.
The case began Thursday night around 11:45 when a Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a driver for a seatbelt violation. The deputy quickly determined that 19-year-old Immanuel Jackson of Clarkston was driving with a suspended license and was wanted on a felony arrest warrant.
The deputy also allegedly saw a mason jar containing marijuana inside the vehicle. Since Jackson and his passengers were under 21 authorities were able to obtain and execute a search warrant on the car. Deputies allegedly found cocaine, ecstasy, LSD, marijuana, nearly 800 dollars in cash and a loaded firearm.
One of Jackson’s passengers 19-year-old Kylie Colvin of Spokane allegedly admitted to deputies that the drugs and handgun were hers and that she was planning to sell the narcotics.
Colvin was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of a firearm. Jackson was arrested on the warrant and for driving with a suspended license. Another passenger in the vehicle was released without charges.
