A dog died in a boat ramp mishap when a truck sank into the Snake River at Wawawai Landing on Tuesday morning.
The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office reports that a man was trying to launch his boat when his sandals slipped off as he was braking. The man accidentally hit the gas when trying to reapply the brakes sending the truck and trailer into the water. The man’s dog was in the back of the truck and died. The truck and trailer were towed out of the river.
