First In-Person WSU Family Weekend Starts Friday

The weekend formerly known as Dad’s Weekend at Washington State University begins Friday.

The first in-person Family Weekend at WSU begins Friday at 7:00 with ZZU Mania in Bohler Gym.  The event celebrates the start of the basketball season.  The Cougar women’s basketball team will have a three point shootout.  The men will have a dunk contest.

The WSU School of Music’s Vocal Extravaganza choir concert is at 7:30 Friday in Bryan Hall.

The 16th Annual Pumpkin Drop will be Saturday starting at 11:00.  The WSU Physics and Astronomy Club will drop pumpkins from the highest point in Pullman.  The pumpkins will be dropped from the 12th floor of Webster Hall.  The pumpkin dropping begins at 1:00.

Family Weekend wraps up with the Cougar home football game against Standard in Martin Stadium at 4:30 Saturday.

The Jeff Dunham comedy show that was scheduled for Friday in Beasley Coliseum has been postponed to a date that’s yet to be determined because of unforeseen circumstances.

WSU announced near the start of the pandemic that they had replaced Dad’s and Mom’s Weekends with Family Weekends.  Family Weekends were held virtually last year when WSU class was conducted online.
