Whitman County Public Health officials are urging residents to get the flu shot as the flu season is already underway locally.
The flu season started early this fall in Whitman County. The agency has already seen a significant rise in flu cases especially in schools. Public health believes there is an increase in the flu countywide.
Residents are being urged to get the flu shot, avoid people who are sick, stay at home if you are sick, cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing and wash your hands.
