One of the members of the legendary Jamaican bobsled team will be speaking at his alma mater in Moscow on Thursday.
Chris Stokes competed on the Jamaican bobsled team that was featured in the movie “Cool Runnings.” Stokes ran track at the University of Idaho before competing in the Olympics from 1988 to 1998. He wrote “Cool Runnings and Beyond-The Story of the Jamaica Bobsleigh Team.” Stokes has served as president of the Jamaica Bobsleigh Federation since 1995 and founded NCS Enterprises. The company focuses on financial services through leadership and sports administration.
Stokes will discuss his life experience in sports and business at 4:00 Thursday at the UI in the Pitman Center International Ballroom. He will also co-emcee a Vandal track reunion banquet this weekend with fellow UI alumnus and Olympic track gold medalist Dan O’Brien. The Mike Keller Era Track and Field Reunion is at the University Inn Best Western in Moscow on Saturday at 5:30.
