The Idaho prison inmate who walked away from his prison work crew at the University of Idaho has pleaded guilty to an escape charge.
34 year old Wayland Savage walked away from his prison work assignment at the Theophilus Tower on august 13th. A SWAT Team was called in to search for Savage and the dorm was evacuated. Savage was arrested by Pullman Police in Pullman that night. He was serving a prison sentence for burglary and grand theft.
Savage pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony escape and was sentenced to between one and two years in prison. The sentence was handed down by Latah County Second District Court Judge John Judge.
