The daily bag limit for steelhead in Idaho has been reduced this year because of a smaller run.
The Idaho steelhead fishing season opened on Friday with a limit of one fish per day. The steelhead fishing season is now open on the Clearwater River and its North, Middle and South Forks.
Idaho Fish and Game biologists are expecting about 35,000 to 40,000 steelhead this year. The run’s ten-year average is about 100,000 fish.
