Increased Patrols Begin to Curb Drunk Driving for St. Patrick’s Day Holiday

The Idaho Transportation Department (IDT) joins the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in a statewide effort to curb alcohol induced accidents and fatalities. The St. Patrick’s Day holiday witnessed 30 drunk-driving fatalities in 2015 nationwide. Starting today, law enforcement agencies across Idaho will increase drunk driving emphasis patrols. IDT reminds drivers that Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving and that NHTSA’s SafeRide mobile app is available to help users find a ride home.
