Major drug bust in Colfax Monday night

Whitman County Deputies seized fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine, and a loaded firearm Monday evening during a traffic stop.

27-year-old Joseph Baker, of Airway Heights was traveling in downtown Colfax when deputies stopped the vehicle for a routine traffic violation.

The deputy allegedly noticed illegal narcotics and other paraphernalia inside of the vehicle and subsequently arrested Baker.

Deputies were granted a search warrant and allegedly located 150 fentanyl tablets, 48 grams of heroin, and 53 grams of methamphetamine.

They also located $825 in cash, a loaded handgun, and paraphernalia.

Baker was booked into the Whitman County Jail on 3 counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Driving with a Suspended License.

According to the sheriff’s office, Baker has had at least six prior felony convictions.
