The 35 year old Moscow man accused of trying to kill his father has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Dylan Thompson is charged with attempted 2nd degree murder and burglary in Latah County Second District Court. Moscow Police were called to a disturbance at an apartment on North Washington Street during the evening of October 10th. Officers found 73 year old Joseph Thompson with stab wounds holding down his son Dylan. Police believe that Dylan stabbed his father who was taken to Gritman Medical Center in Moscow for treatment.
Judge David Harold on Thursday ordered the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to evaluate Thompson to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial. Thompson remains in jail on a half a million dollars bond.
