Moscow Mural Vandalism Suspect Arrested On Warrant

The suspect in the Moscow mural vandalism case has been arrested on a warrant.

Moscow Police tried to arrest 45 year old Kent Salisbury of Moscow on Friday.  Salisbury allegedly tried to flee on a bicycle before officers took him into custody.  He was arraigned in Latah County Second District Court on Monday for resisting arrest.

Salisbury is scheduled to be arraigned on two misdemeanor counts of vandalism on Wednesday.  Moscow Police believe he destroyed the mural at the city’s water building in mid-May.  The mural was originally painted four years ago as part of the city’s conservation education program.  The vandalism was so severe that the city had to remove the mural.
