Safe Routes to School is hosting its annual “Polar Walk” for students in Moscow on Wednesday, February 5th.
The event will see around 2,000 students from schools in the area participating alongside parents, teachers, and University of Idaho staff and faculty.
The event encourages students to travel actively to school, even in the cold winter months.
Safe Routes to School works to provide safe, convenient, and enjoyable opportunities for active travel in Moscow.
As part of the event, students will travel together in “walking school buses” from designated meeting places with the assistance of volunteer supervision. Those groups will depart 15-20 minutes before their school’s start time.
- West Park Elementary students will meet at the University of Idaho Rec Center.
- McDonald Elementary students will meet at the Eggan Youth Center.
- Saint Mary’s students will meet at the Saint Mary’s church parking lot.
- Palouse Prairie Charter students will meet at Indian Hills Park.
Recommended walking routes to your school and Park-and-Walk locations are available via the University of Idaho website.
