The Moscow Volunteer Fire Department’s 2026 Stairclimb team of 28 firefighters raised over $30,000 for Blood Cancer United.
The annual stairclimb at Seattle’s Columbia Center Tower sees firefighters climbing up flights of stairs while wearing full firefighting gear and breathing on air.
Each Moscow firefighter completed 69 flights, or 1,356 steps and 788 feet of elevation gain.
Several team members earned top individual honors. Joey Williams finished 9th overall and first in his age category, while Ava Sabari took first place among women in her age category. In the 1–19 age group, the top nine finishers were all Moscow Volunteer Firefighters.
