No Swimming Hole At Laird Park This Summer

There will not a swimming hole at Laird Park in North Latah County this summer.

The structure that holds back the water to create the popular swimming hole in the Palouse River has been decommissioned by the U.S. Forest Service.  The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest announced on Facebook that the structure needs to be repaired.  Officials say they are working on a solution.  The Palouse River remains accessible in the park North of Harvard.

The Forest Service earlier this summer announced that drinking water in the park had been turned off.  There is no update from the agency about when water service will resume.
