Old Kruegel Hall Dorm At WSU Coming Down

The old Kruegel Hall dorm on the Washington State University is coming down.

Crews have begun demolishing the old dorm along Stadium Way.  WSU officials say renovating the building was impractical and it’s been sitting empty for the past few years.  Campus planners are crafting a longterm plan for revitalizing this area.  Until then a lawn will be seeded where Kruegel Hall once stood.

There are traffic restrictions on Stadium Way while the old dorm is being demolished.  The work should be complete early next year.  The demolition will cost about 3.5 million dollars.

Kruegel Hall was dedicated in 1957 and was named after William C. Kruegel who was a former bursar and graduate manager of athletics.
