Washington added 8,300 jobs in May

Washington’s economy added 8,300 jobs in May. Data from the Employment Security Department shows the state’s preliminary seasonally adjusted monthly unemployment rate fell slightly to 5.3 percent from April to May. This is a stark contrast to last May when the state lost 11,500 jobs due to the pandemic.
