The City of Troy has completed paving a new child pedestrian safety path designed to provide children with a safer route to and from school.
The path in the Big Meadow area was completed in phases over several years with help from Local Highway Technical Assistance Council grants.
City officials say state budget cuts eliminated a final grant opportunity this year, so the Troy City Council decided to move forward with completing the paving.
The city says Duthie Park is scheduled to be paved today.
