Potentially Dangerous Harvard Area Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested Without Incident By SWAT

UPDATE:  The alleged domestic incident occurred around 8:00 Sunday night in the 440 block of State Highway 6.  Long was alone in his residence when he was arrested.  He was taken into custody on a warrant for felony domestic battery and aggravated assault.  Officers also obtained and executed a search warrant for Long’s home.  The Moscow PD, Pullman PD, WSU PD, Moscow Ambulance and Potlatch Ambulance assisted the Latah County Sheriff’s Office.

ORIGINAL STORY:  A domestic violence suspect was taken into custody with a heavy SWAT police presence this afternoon North of Harvard.

Adam Long was arrested without incident stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident that occurred last night that reportedly involved a gun.  The female victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was not taken to the hospital by an ambulance.  The Latah County Sheriff’s Office took Long into custody at his home around 12:30.  The Latah County SWAT Team and Whitman County SWAT were utilized because of Long’s criminal history and since he allegedly used a firearm during the incident.  The Pullman PD’s new armored vehicle that went into service last week was used to help arrest Long peacefully.  The Latah County Sheriff’s Office expects to release more information about this case soon.
