Pullman Good Food Co-op In Final Push To Raise Half A Million Dollars For Down Payment On Old Fireside Grille Building

The Pullman Good Food Co-op is in the final push to raise a half a million dollars to move forward on buying a building for its store.

The group needs the money by July 8th for the down payment to buy the old Fireside Grille location on Bishop Boulevard.  The building was more recently used as a dental office by the Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic.  The clinic put the building on the market last year with a list price of 3 million dollars.

The co-op has spent over five years looking for a store.  They assessed over 25 sites in Pullman and the Bishop Boulevard property is the only one that fully meets the group’s requirements.  According to a co-op press release if they don’t raise the money it will take several years before they find another building.

The Pullman Good Food Co-op will be hosting a community open house about their effort on Wednesday.  It’s from 4:00 to 7:00 in the old Fireside Grille building.

The meeting coincides with the return of the Pullman Farmers Market which will be in the parking lot of the movie theaters next door.
