Pullman Schools Superintendent Clarifies Statement Regarding Alleged PHS Sexual Assault

The Pullman School District’s Superintendent has clarified the administration’s statement regarding allegations of a sexual assault that reportedly occurred at the high school.

Dr. Bob Maxwell says the alleged sexual assault was reported last week.  PHS officials notified the Pullman Police Department which is investigating the case.

On Thursday Maxwell and PHS Principal, Juston Pollestad sent an email to high school students.  The email stated that social media posts regarding an alleged incident at PHS were not true.  Maxwell has since clarified with Pullman Radio News that his statement about inaccurate social media posts specifically regarded claims that the PHS administration hadn’t responded to the report.  You can listen to Maxwell’s comment by clicking on the audio file below.

PHS is also conducting its own investigation into the allegation.  Dozens of PHS students walked out of class on Friday and marched through downtown Pullman to protest what they say was a lack of response from school officials.
