River Flooding Not Expected On The Palouse-Paradise Creek In Moscow Has Likely Crested

Local rivers are not expected to reach flood stage following last night’s heavy rain.

The National Weather Service believes that Paradise Creek in Moscow has likely crested.  The creek rose to just under 9 feet at 7:30 this morning.  Minor flood stage starts at just over 9 feet.

The Palouse River in Potlatch is continuing to rise but forecasters believe it will not reach flood stage.  The river is expected to crest this afternoon at just over 14 feet.  The Palouse river minor flood stage starts at 15 feet.

A Flood Advisory is in effect for the Palouse until 2:15 this afternoon.
