A two-day film festival exploring American and Idaho history is coming to the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow this weekend.
“Roots of a Nation: An Idaho Film Festival” is part of the commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary and will feature films, conversations and discussions reflecting on the country’s history.
The festival opens Friday at 7 p.m. with a screening of the 1972 musical “1776.”
Saturday’s schedule includes the new documentary “Sacajawea of the Salmon River” at 3 p.m. That screening is free. The festival concludes Saturday night at 7 with “Train Dreams.”
The festival is being presented with support from the Latah County Historical Society, Idaho Humanities Council, Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre and Idaho Public Television. Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is sponsoring the event.
