Rumors about vaccinations for students at UI cleared

Monday morning, University of Idaho President Scott Green cleared a rumor that was floating around Moscow last week. False information suggesting that vaccinations were available for anyone was allegedly spreading throughout the community.

According to a memo President Green sent out, this caused mass confusion and conflict at the Gritman Medical Center’s vaccination clinic.

Right now in the State of Idaho, residents 65 and older, K-12 grade educators, first responders, and others in Group 1 are eligible to get vaccinated.

Students and college faculty are not.

President Green also said because of the cancellation of classes last week, the number of tests conducted decreased. Of the 311 test results received 1.29% were positive.

Right now, only a few students are in isolation or quarantine at the U of I.
