Steelhead Habitat Restoration Work Continues On East Fork Of Potlatch River

Steelhead habitat restoration work is continuing on the East Fork of the Potlatch river in Latah County.

Idaho Fish and Game recently placed over 100 large pieces of timber in a one mile stretch of the river.  Crews have also constructed riffles to help raise the water level in the stream to improve the habitat for steelhead.

For the past several years fish and game has been improving steelhead habitat on 5 miles of the East Fork of the Potlatch River.  The agency is to monitoring the wild steelhead run in the river.  Fish managers believe the projects will result in more fish.
