Three traffic fatalities reported in Latah County during Idaho’s 100 Deadliest Days

Three people were killed in crashes in Latah County during Idaho’s 2026 “100 Deadliest Days,” according to preliminary data from the Idaho Office of Highway Safety.

Statewide, 90 people died in crashes between Memorial Day and Labor Day, up from 88 during the same period last year. Two fatalities were reported in neighboring Nez Perce County.

Leading factors in fatal crashes included not wearing a seat belt, impaired and distracted driving, speeding and failing to maintain a lane.

Despite the increase during the summer period, Idaho has recorded 150 traffic fatalities so far this year, down from 174 at the same point in 2025.
