Two Spokane Residents Arrested In Colfax For Allegedly Stealing Thousands In Merchandise

Two Spokane residents have been arrested in Colfax for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise in a major shoplifting investigation.

The incident began Wednesday night when law enforcement officers responded to a shoplifting report at the Rosauers grocery store in Colfax.  Clerks told Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputies that two people loaded their personal bags with groceries and left the store without paying.  Deputies located the suspect’s vehicle at a local convenience store and allegedly observed a large quantity of new merchandise in the backseat.  Authorities obtained and executed a search warrant on the vehicle and reportedly recovered about 5,000 dollars in stolen merchandise and a loaded handgun.

The driver of the vehicle 43-year-old Jesse Aldrich and his passenger 43-year-old Sommer Callahan were arrested on a variety of charges.  Aldrich has an extensive criminal history including multiple convictions for property crimes.  Callahan has a similar criminal record.
