The University of Idaho has settled a long running wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a former professor. The suit was initially filed by Sanjay Gupta in federal court three years ago but was then moved to state court. Gupta was fired by the UI in the Summer of 2012 after one if his researchers levied a sexual harassment complaint against him. Priyanka Gajjar claimed that Gupta tried to seduce her. That claim came days before Gajjar was set to have her work evaluation. Court records showed that Gupta realized that Gajjar did not have the lab skills she purported to on her resume and was unable to conduct her job adequately. The suit argued that the University of Idaho failed to follow its own policies in firing Gupta. The University of Idaho has confirmed that the case was settled and dismissed last week in Latah County Second District Court. No other details have been provided and UI officials declined to comment about the settlement.
