UI Testing All Students This Week For Coronavirus As Cases Continue To Increase On Greek Row

The University of Idaho will be testing all students this week for coronavirus.  UI President Scott Green updated the campus community about the coronavirus situation in an email Friday.

Preliminary results from testing last week shows that the virus is continuing to spread on Greek Row.  About 1,200 students and employees were tested last week.  Those results will be released today.

Green says the spread of coronavirus has primarily occurred in the Greek system and that no cases have been linked to classroom exposure.  Contact tracing shows that the increase in cases is among living groups at the UI and spread during social functions where people were not following pandemic safety protocols.

The UI will continue its mix of in-person classroom and online instruction this week and like last week instructors can move their classes online.  Green is encouraging students to remain in Moscow.
