Washington Online Court Records System Hacked Causing Disruptions In Whitman County Superior Court

The court records computer network in Washington has been hacked which is causing issues locally in Whitman County Superior Court.

Whitman County Clerk Jill Whelchel has announced the disruptions involve only some cases in superior court.  All superior court cases for this week will be rescheduled except for criminal and juvenile cases.  Those will proceed as scheduled.

Whitman County District Court Judge John Hart is not making any changes with his lower court.  Judge Hart says his staff have the ability to continue operating normally without the state online court records system.

The Washington Administrative Office of the Courts has shut down their online database after it was hacked.  Officials hope to have the problem fixed and the system back online next week.
