Whitman County and Eastern Washington are remaining in phase 1 of Washington Governor Jay Inslee’s latest coronavirus restrictions on businesses. The new guidelines require regions to meet 4 metrics set by the governor to move into his phase 2 restrictions.
In the Eastern Washington region, which includes Whitman County locally, 3 of the 4 metrics were met. The weekly tabulation conducted by the Washington Department of Health on Friday shows that the region’s only failed metric was the positivity rate for coronavirus testing. The positivity rate must drop below 10%. The agency will come out with its next tabulation on Friday.
All 8 regions in Washington remain in phase 1.
