Whitman County officials are asking citizens to adjust how they are using the internet to reduce the demand on bandwidth.
The county’s information technology director says they are starting to see some internet speed slowdowns with people staying home and watching movies and playing video games online. The high internet usage is beginning to affect local government and public safety functions.
IT Director Lance Bishop is asking everyone to lower their Netflix quality settings and limit the number of devices streaming video at the same time. He is also asking people to download videos and watch them offline.
