Whitman County Sheriff’s Office offers Boater Education Course

The Whitman County Sheriff’s Office will offer a free mandatory boater education course for Washington boaters Aug 13th – 14th from 6 – 9:30 p.m. at the Whitman County Parks and Recreation Center in Colfax. This 7-hour course will provide boaters with the basics of safe boating that all recreational boaters should know. To complete this course, you must attend both nights.
State law requires Washington residents born on or after January 1st, 1955 to carry a boater education card when operating a boat on Washington’s waterways. the law applies to operators of motorboats of 15 horsepower or greater.
The class is free, but upon completion of the course, the boater education card will cost $10. This class can also be completed online. You can find the link to the online course bellow.
