WSU football player charged for allegedly urinating in an elevator and damaging a bathroom on campus

A Washington State University football player has been charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly urinating in an elevator and damaging a bathroom on campus.  The Whitman County Prosecutor’s Office charged redshirt freshman defensive back D’Jimon Jones with 3rd degree malicious mischief last week.

The alleged incident occurred during the early morning hours of March 4th.  WSU Police say they were in contact with Jones, because of the then 18 year old’s apparent intoxication, when the alleged vandalism came to light.  Officers say someone showed them a video they received on Snapchat from another party reportedly showing Jones causing the vandalism that same night.  The cell phone video allegedly showed Jones urinating in an elevator and damaging a bathroom paper towel dispenser in the Northside Residence Hall.

Jones is scheduled to be arraigned on the vandalism count a week from today in Whitman County District Court in Pullman.  WSU’s Sports Information Director says there is no comment from the Cougar football coaches as the issue is considered a team matter.
