WSU President’s Mansion Renamed This Week

The Washington State University President’s Mansion is being renamed during a ceremony this week.

The residence will be renamed the Ida Lou Anderson House.  Anderson was one of the first female faculty at WSU and taught from 1926 to 1939.  Her great nephew Bill Plaskett is expected to be at the event.  The free celebration is from 4:30 to 6:00 on Thursday at the house on Campus Street.  The ceremony is open to the public.

The residence is now the home of WSU Pullman Chancellor Dr. Elizabeth Chilton.  President Kirk Schulz lived in the home before he moved into a new “CEO-type” role managing WSU systemwide.
