Washington State University has received a $3 million gift to help equip new chemistry labs on the Pullman campus.
Ned and Nancy Wogman have pledged the money to outfit three instructional chemistry laboratories in WSU’s planned Integrated Sciences Building.
The labs will be used for hands-on chemistry and other STEM education and will be named the Dr. Ned and Nancy Wogman Instructional Chemistry Lab Suite.
Ned Wogman is a 1961 WSU chemistry graduate who spent four decades at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His work included analyzing moon rocks from the Apollo missions and working on national security and nuclear science projects. Nancy Wogman also worked at PNNL for more than two decades.
The couple has previously funded professorships, fellowships and student scholarships at WSU.
The planned Integrated Sciences Building will replace Heald Hall on the Pullman campus. Demolition of Heald Hall is currently underway while design review for the new building continues.
