Pullman Police have arrested an 18-year-old Washington State University student in a child sexual abuse material investigation.
Pullman Police detectives and officers, with assistance from WSU Police, served search warrants at a dorm room in Olympia Hall on the WSU campus.
Police say 18-year-old Adrian M. Castro was detained while the warrants were being served. Castro was later booked into the Whitman County Jail for first-degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, a Class B felony.
The investigation began with an Internet Crimes Against Children cybertip submitted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to the Renton Police Department.
Pullman Police, an Internet Crimes Against Children partner agency, continued the investigation after Castro enrolled at WSU.
