City of Moscow reminds residents of snow removal procedures

As the snow continues to hit the Palouse, the City of Moscow is reminding residents of snow removal procedures.

During heavy snowfall events, residents are asked to park off the street to allow plows to clear as much of the roadway as possible.

Under a Moscow City ordinance, it is the responsibility of the adjacent property owner to keep sidewalks clear of snow and debris. In doing so, it is illegal to push snow into a public right of way.

Citizens are also asked to keep the area around fire hydrants clear. The city suggests keeping three feet cleared completely around the hydrant.

If residents have a concern regarding dangerous road conditions after regular business hours, call 208-882-COPS.
