Charges will not be filed from the brawl last winter in Moscow that involved University of Idaho football players.
The incident occurred on February 10th at UI student Timmy Reed’s off campus apartment. Reed’s Moscow attorney Tim Gresback held a press conference in April about the alleged fight. Gresback says Reed was going to host a party with his Beta Theta Pi fraternity roommates when a large crowd of students arrived uninvited. Some in the crowd were allegedly wearing masks and carrying PVC pipes. When Reed asked the crowd to leave Gresback reported that a Vandal football player sucker punched him knocking him unconscious, breaking his nose and causing a concussion. Gresback denied claims that the attack was a response to racial insults that were directed at the crowd.
The Moscow Police Department completed their investigation into the fight and sent the case to the City of Moscow Prosecutor for review. Reed Brevig declined to file misdemeanor charges in the case. In an emailed statement from Brevig he found insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.
