Pullman-based Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is investing $25 million to expand manufacturing operations at its West Lafayette, Indiana, facility.
The expansion is taking place at SEL’s facility in the Purdue Discovery Park District near Purdue University. The project is expected to increase production capacity for recloser controls by more than 35% and create approximately 130 new jobs. Recloser controls help electric utilities automatically detect problems on power lines and restore service more quickly following some outages.
The West Lafayette expansion is expected to be completed in March 2027.
