Washington State University Athletics has signed a multi-year partnership with AI technology and storytelling company FanWord.
WSU will use FanWord Assist, an AI-powered communications platform designed specifically for college sports. The technology will help WSU communications staff produce game recaps, feature stories, player bios, award nominations and other content. The platform is designed to reduce the time spent producing content, while WSU staff will maintain full editorial control over everything that is published. WSU Athletic Director Jon Haarlow says the partnership will help the department improve efficiency while expanding its storytelling efforts. The announcement from a Cougar Athletics press release did not reveal how much the deal costs.
WSU joins more than 250 college athletic departments using FanWord’s technology.
