The local United Way in Idaho is paying off student lunch debts in Moscow.

The United Way of Moscow/Latah County is paying the lunch debts for students in the Moscow School District, Palouse Prairie Charter School and the Moscow Charter School.  The organization is using a grant program for student lunch debt to cover the costs.  The United Way chapter says no family should be put into debt to feed their children.  The group notes that 44% of households in Latah County qualify as “working poor.”
