Troy is under a boil order after E. Coli bacteria was found in the city’s water supply.
The order was issued after the bacteria was found in the water system on Saturday. The contamination can make people sick. E. Coli is normally present in animal waste and may have entered the Troy water system due to recent heavy rains or a break in a waterline.
Troy residents need to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use. The city hopes to have the problem solved and the boil order removed within a week.
