Former UI Associate Director Of Alumni Relations Sentenced For Misusing Public Funds

The former associate director of alumni relations at the University of Idaho has been sentenced for misusing public funds.

49-year-old Tim Helmke of Moscow previously pleaded guilty to felony misuse of public money by a public employee.  Latah County Second District Court Judge John Judge sentenced Helmke Wednesday.  He was sentenced to 14 days in jail, ordered to conduct 100 hours of community service, was placed on probation for 3 years and must pay nearly 2,500 dollars in restitution to the UI.

Helmke made illegal purchases on his university credit card between April of 2019 and July of last year.
